Safety Oil Sump System

At Environmental Valve Products, we focus on providing the best oil spill protection solutions for your business. Our Safety Oil Sump is designed as a complete oil spill protection system, available in various sizes to accommodate flow rates ranging from 0-1,400 GPM (5,300 L/min).

Installed downstream from bulk fuel or oil locations, a Safety Oil Sump ensures that rain runoff and wastewater pass through the sump and are discharged, while bulk oil is stopped by an oil stop valve (OSV).

Oil Stop Valve Technology

The OSV is a key component of our Safety Oil Sump system, designed with a single moving part—a ballasted float set at a specific gravity between that of oil and water (0.95 or less).

In the event of an oil spill, the float loses buoyancy as the oil level rises, eventually seating itself on the discharge port, thus confining the oil spill.
